Charlie Frank
Jacksonville, Fl
A unique style of urban symbolism influenced by H.P. Lovecraft, Jim Henson,
Terry Gilliam, Ray Harryhausen, Edward Gorey, and Aubrey Beardsley.
In his precollege years, he was a graphic design artist for surf companies
along the east and west coasts. Towards the end of his college career he put aside
painting to pursue a career in the tattoo industry, and with the influence of his gracious
mentor Deborah Oliveri (formerly Deborah Inksmith), he was able to gain a whole
new perspective on art. His tattoo flash is displayed in over half the tattoo studios in
the States and the UK.
In March 2001, Charlie formed a coalition of urban arts called The Box.
As art director he helps support the local urban artists who are trying to display
their new-style expressive art in the local community.
In conclusion, Charlie is still working as a tattoo artist to support his lifelong dream
of becoming a well known painter and also becoming a mentor for other artists.
Special thanks to Debbie Olivieri, Friends, and Family who supported Charlie throughout his career
